Privacy and legal

What this site collects

Nothing, directly. Eclipsio has no accounts, no forms and no tracking of its own. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. The spot you pick lives only in the page address, so you can share a link to it.

Analytics

Traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views and referrers without cookies and without building a profile of you. We see totals, not individuals.

Third-party services

Like most maps, this one is assembled in your browser from a few outside sources. When the page loads, your browser requests files from these services, which means they receive your IP address as part of the normal working of the web:

Fonts are hosted here, not fetched from Google. None of these requests identify you to us.

Safety and accuracy

Every time, percentage and angle on this site is a computed prediction, offered in good faith and without warranty. The maths follows NASA's published Besselian elements, but nobody has surveyed your hedge.

Looking at the sun can permanently damage your eyes. Nowhere in Britain or Ireland goes total during this eclipse, so there is no safe moment to look without protection. Use eclipse glasses certified to ISO 12312-2, or project the image. Safe viewing is your responsibility.

Attribution

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Basemap tiles by CARTO. Elevation data from the Terrarium tileset (SRTM and GMTED, hosted by AWS). Eclipse elements from NASA/GSFC.
